Autumn Photos

Last fall while I was fishing at the Miramichi River in New Brunswick I decided to take a morning away from the river and explore the area with my camera. The light was beckoning and I followed my nose. I set out to capture whatever caught my eye and soon found myself doing a series of shots with the maple leaf as my main focus. It was interesting to see all of the different images that were presented to me when I narrowed down my focus. There are of course many other shots as well (some I will include here). They range from looking off of the bridge at the fog lifting from the water surface to the light and shadow playing over the submerged rock formations. Once again I am striving for the way in which these elements take on an abstract nature due to the composition of each. The last three photos of the sumac in fiery red are some of my favourites. The range and contrast of colours in them is very captivating I find. The last one on the list was just printed on canvas at 26″ x 39″. It really jumps off the wall.
ENJOY!

I sure love it when you post. It’s like a moment to stop time in a busy day.

Is that your reflection in the underwater maple picture? haha I like that one the best, I think it would make a good painting.

Andrew, at the first glance your works appear only to deal with the beauty on the surface. However, upon a closer inspection, it becomes obvious that your subject matter is the essence of all things natural.
